Fast paced, fun and festive evening

Fast paced, fun and festive evening, December 2024

The last of the 2024 monthly ALAG / Autism Hub events was an interactive festive special. This was a well attended in-person event, allowing everyone the chance to meet, to catch up and to exchange any festive greetings.

The event began with a panel session, where I asked two autistic ALAG members to talk about their preparation for this often busy and overwhelming time of the year. We discussed changes to routines, coping with shorter days of December light, buying presents and interacting with family. There were good tips on making time for yourself during the festivities.

Name that tune was fast paced – with speedy responses to a variety of carols, choir tunes and favourite music from this time of year.

For those who wanted a break from the busy quiz, there was a crafts session in a separate space offering a calming environment for creating a festive decoration or Christmas cards. Elsewhere, there were chances for social chat and interaction.

I thoroughly I enjoyed being a part of the fun, interactive and festive evening event.
