Managing finances and budgeting can be extremely anxiety provoking for many autistic people. It requires planning, decision making and ongoing monitoring – all part of our executive functioning.
There will be a short presentation on managing finances followed by questions and discussion. The event will focus on different tools to monitor incomings and outgoings, to promote more control, and reduce anxiety around the topic.
The presentation will explore:
- The importance of budgeting and managing finances and why this is helpful for autistic people.
- An overview of budgeting- what is it, how is it used, when is it used?
- Budgeting – individual tools and tips.
- Useful resources including websites.
