ALAG and the Autism Hub invite you to attend our Annual Summer Social on Tuesday 4 August exploring the theme of Travel & photography.

Following on from a previous session we did on the intricacies of travelling as an autistic person, members will be invited to share photographs from their travels and talk about their experiences. This could be a chance to discover new places, learn about different travel experiences and share your own interests and memories.

There will be plenty of opportunity to join the discussion, ask questions and share your own thoughts about travel. Whether you love travelling, enjoy looking at photographs of places around the world, or simply want to hear about other people’s adventures, everyone is welcome.

We will also be joined by an autistic researcher named Evie Rose regarding research she is doing. Below is more information about her/her research:

Evie is a Trainee Clinical Psychologist at Royal Holloway University of London who self-identifies as autistic. She is completing a research study exploring couples’ experiences of receiving a later-life diagnosis of autism, and the impact of this on their relationship. The research will contribute to our understanding of the experiences of older adults with autism, helping to inform the support provided to older autistic adults and their partners when receiving an autism diagnosis in later life. Evie is hoping to recruit couples where one person was diagnosed with autism aged 50 years or older, to take part in an interview together to speak about their experiences.
