Putting a cheerful spring in your step: Marking World Autism Acceptance Day, featuring The Autistic Adult Choir

The Autism Hub and ALAG April 2024 meeting was an in-person special, allowing new and regular participants to meet up and celebrate World Autism Acceptance Day. This was a special with music performed by the Autistic Adult Choir, led by Choirmaster Jill Bradford. To add even more musical enjoyment, there was the addition of keyboard, guitar and drums.

Lived experiences from three people offered personal accounts, personal journeys and personal daily challenges. These three experiences were entitled “reflections on the smile”, “eyes widened” and “navigating the spectrum”. The music and lived experiences and in-person event offered plenty of chances for interaction, entertainment – with plenty of snacks and drinks on offer. It was a well attended event with up to 50 attendees and made for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
